Enfield Urban District Council minutes reveal that 14 acres were purchased for the Bush Hill Park Pleasure Grounds from a Mr Low (of Low’s Nursery) in 1908. A further 13 acres were purchased in 1909 and the final strip on the eastern side of the ground in 1911. The drinking fountain was installed in 1911 and the bandstand in June 1913.
The Bush Hill Park Recreation Ground was officially opened on Saturday 18th April 1911
